Who makes the key decisions in a household? Women. They determine when their kids, aging parents or husband should see the doctor.
So how do you gain their attention? Social media. Studies show women are the dominant force in social networks like Facebook and Twitter. These networks present a prime opportunity to showcase your hospital’s services, events and patient care.
During this 60-minute webinar, you will learn how to:
- Formulate a social media strategy to reach women, including new moms
- Develop messages that speak to your target audience
- Publicize your hospital’s women-oriented events via social media
- Start a hospital Twitter feed geared to women
- Converse with mommy bloggers to understand their needs
- Integrate offline strategies to expand your social network for women
- Share data and studies with executive staff about this key demographic
- Find online communities for women, or start one at your hospital
- Generate ideas for engaging new and expectant mothers
- And more!
Your presenter, Corey Walker, will teach you how to tailor your social media message to this influential audience.

(Company press release)
After music industry vet Liza Lowenberg moved to the burbs and became a stay-at-home mom it was difficult to keep up with new releases. She went from being “in the know” to surfing online to find out who sings what. Realizing that there was a huge void in marketing towards stay-at-home, Miles Of Marketing was born.
Utilizing the “street team” concept with suburban moms put this realization to the test.

While social mega-networks like Facebook and MySpace have their own drawbacks from a growth and advertising activation/conversion standpoint, growth in the social networking space is coming from niche networks (easy to create via services like Ning and Freewebs). And among niche networks, you’d be hard-pressed to find a niche more expansive (or lucrative) than those nets appealing to women.
So a special “thanks” to Toby Bloomberg, the Marketing Diva, for her list of top social networks for women. She’s done a lot of work here and I’m just going to re-publish her list – but for those of you who may be familiar with other networks (or have developed one of your own) focusing on the women’s market, please let me know about it for a follow-up post at some point in the future.
