From the Eyes on Creativity blog – here’s a handy reference to an online site that shares the best in corporate identity work. Viewers rate the work on a five star system.

Great for the aspiring graphic designer in all of us.

The fine folks at Maple Creative have produced a multi-post guide to successful event promotion on their Marketing Genius blog (Post 1 Post 2). Good stuff. They’ve broken their rules down to a very simple (and apropos) anagram:

R – Repetition
S – Simplicity
V – Variety
P – Packaging

Clever and relevant.

We’re all in the consulting business to one degree or another, aren’t we? Well, how do you avoid the classic consulting “tar baby” … writing reports that never get read and conducting research projects that lead to one inescapable conclusion: that your client needs more consulting.

Mike McLaughlin, editor of the Guerilla Consulting blog publishes a monthly e-zine that covers these and other subjects of interest to consultants who are really concerned about adding value. Think online gaming is the domain of selfish teenagers, holed up in their parent’s basement? Think again. AdWeek reports that J&J’s latest foray into the realm of advergames is targeting mothers (and presumably fathers) to promote their Buddies line of bathing products.

You won’t find plot lines involving slinky, sexy women or semi-automatic weapons here, either. No, it seems as if the object of the game is to see how many tiny tikes you can squeeze into a tub for their pre-bedtime baths.

Ottowa’s Fuel Industries produced the game.

Six months ago, all hell broke loose.

I was absolutely swamped under by a flood of work and a lingering case of pneumonia that knocked me out of the blogging business (and nearly out of the agency business as well). I recovered but had to fulfill my client obligations, first and foremost.

Life is almost back to normal now and I thought now was as good a time as any to start blogging again.

Much Ado About Marketing is back. And I’m looking forward to hearing from all of my old friends.
