SEO = Search Engine Optimization
And Blog Business World’s Wayne Hurlbert has shared some interesting thoughts on how the Internet is getting “over optimized” (my words, not his). To wit:
“…there are literally billions of sites on the internet. About four billion of them are blogs. By the way, those four million blogs are better optimized than 98% of the traditional websites.”
Cool, huh? Check out his blog and learn more.

Hi Mike. Thanks for visiting and mentioning my blog. It’s greatly appreciated.
Many people’s jaws simply drop when they find out that blogs are so well suited to the search engines. The reasons are really quite simple, and fairly obvious, in fact.
The search engines like lots of links. Blogs are built on links. Without links, one of the real benefits of blogging would disappear.
The search engines like lots of fresh content. Blogs are updated regularly. Many blogs are updated, with a new post or posts every day. Some traditional websites are on their first anniversary of their most reacent post. Many wish they were updated that often.
Blogs are well themed to the blogger’s main topics of interest. Themes are a powerful part of what the search engines want from a site. The blogger simply writes about his or her favourite topic. Presto! Instant themeing that’s better than a huge budget website can muster.
Blogs are already well optimized for the search engines, merely by doing what is just every day blogging.
